Australian Maths Competition Results 2020

The Australian Mathematics Competition, or AMC, to quote their website, is “an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives… Australia’s leading educators and academics, with a deep understanding of our national curriculum standards, actively design the unique AMC problems each year.”

Every year, the top Maths classes in Years 8, 9 and 10, as well as students nominated by their teachers across Years 7 – 10, take part in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC). In 2020, 119 Bethany students participated and did very well.

Our overall results were as follows:

2 Distinction

46 Credit

61 Proficiency

10 Participation

The two Distinctions were achieved by Luna Pandiella-McLeod in Year 10 and Siena Busdon in Year 9.  Siena also achieved the award for the Best in School.

My thanks to Ms Johnson for managing the AMC in 2020.
