First place for Bethany student in Human Services course

I chose Human Services as a subject to study in Year 11 and 12 as I’ve always been interested in studying Nursing at University. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to decide whether this career was for me.  What I like about Human Services is that each student gets the opportunity to engage in 2 weeks (80 hours) of ‘hands-on’ work placement, working as an AIN (Assistant in Nursing) at a hospital and nursing home.  I did my work placement at St Vincent’s Hospital and St Joseph’s Rehab.  It is also a lot of fun engaging in a lot of practical work around the classroom and the topics that we cover in class are very interesting (such as body systems, manual handling, infection control etc.).  What I also love about this course, is that it is an ATAR subject, therefore it counts towards my ATAR and I was thrilled to place first last year!
