From the Assistant Principal

As we move towards the end of term our students in Year 7 -10 will be receiving their reports. For many students this a genuine affirmation of their effort and application across Semester One, a snapshot of your daughters progress at this point in her education. Reports will be distributed at our Parent/ Teacher interviews to be held on July 4 and 5. When looking at your daughter’s report we encourage you to focus on areas of success as well as opportunities for improvement. Try to encourage your daughter to have a sense of pride in her achievement and use this as a platform for motivation as we commence Semester Two. A report often opens up an opportunity for discussion around the factors that have contributed to their success or hindered their progress. Reports also have a part to play in your child’s sense of self, for this reason it is particularly useful to avoid comparisons with other children. Looking for opportunities to celebrate success and affirm effort are valuable tools in building both confidence and planning for future success.

Furthermore, reports provide an opportunity for reflection we encourage you to consider and discuss your daughter’s overall attendance throughout the Semester One, recognising the strong correlation between attendance and academic success.

We look forward to seeing parents/ carers of Years 7-10 on July 4 and 5 for parent teacher interviews to receive additional feedback and explore ways in which we can work together to support your daughters.

On July 2nd we celebrate the talents of our HSC Dance students and on July 23 our HSC Drama and Music student s in their showcase evenings.

Our Semester One awards ceremony, celebrating both academic excellence and effort will take place on Wednesday July 24, with Year 7 – 9 awards ceremony commencing at 9am and our 10-12 ceremony commencing at 11am. Further details to come.
