Growing in Culture program for Term 2

‘ We are in this together, united as one people ’

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are invited to engage with the Murrawadeen Goodjarga Arts program and learn more about our shared Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.

Goodjarga has been running for many years as part of the CaSPA arts program, and this year will see our new Artist in Residence – Hamani Tanginoa and Visual Arts tutor Simone Small, both planning exciting sessions for students to participate/learn and then showcase.

The program for 2022 has been designed to nurture the creative skills of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander SCS students and to develop understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and language.

The program will also provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students (and teachers)  from Years 5 -12 to develop their connection to culture through storytelling – drama, visual arts and music. Commencing in WEEK 3 and working over 7 weeks exploring the theme:

HOPE and our Indigenous Youth in the Urban World

The program will culminate in a performance piece showcased in Week 9 Term 2.
