Hospitality Teachers Industry Tour and Dinner
Learning is for everyone!
On Friday evening I joined 40 other Hospitality Teachers at The Star Pyrmont for a behind the scenes tour of their catering operations. It was an amazing experience where we were able to have a first-hand look at the operations of the numerous kitchens. The tour highlighted information about the logistics in food delivery and production, the implementation of WHS protocols, the roles and responsibilities of a chef and the process of menu planning as well as how new technologies are utilised in the production of food.
The tour was followed by dinner at Sokyo, A Japanese-inspired restaurant that showcased exceptional food presentation techniques and garnishes.
It was interesting to hear about The Star Apprenticeship Program -The Star Culinary Institute which provides a dynamic, friendly, and supportive environment for Apprentice Chefs to achieve and excel.
I am very excited to share all my new knowledge and experiences with my Year 11 and 12 Hospitality students.
