Library News – Cover 2 Cover Challenge
Our internal wide reading challenge – Cover 2 Cover commences this week and will run through to the end of Week 8.
This is open to all students and staff at the college. Students in Years’ 7 to 9 will compete in the Junior Division while those in Years’ 10 and 11 will compete in the Senior Division.
A Recommended Reads Brochure has been prepared for each division. Points will be given based on the books that you choose to read:
- Books not listed in the brochure – 1 point
- Picture Books – 1 point
- Books listed in the brochure – 2 points
- Teacher Recommended Reads – 4 points
To earn points, you must complete the reading log and have it signed off by Mr Amuso in the library. Reading logs can be downloaded through Compass or the Library catalogue.
There will be prizes for those who read the most books and earn the most points. Prizes are also on offer for homerooms that earn the most points.
In addition ,we will determine who reads the most – Junior students (7-9) or Senior Students (10-11).
Students will also have the chance to win prizes through a guessing competition. To win, students must guess correctly the favourite books that have been read by staff.
Once you complete the form, hand it to either Mr Amuso (Library) or Mrs Straker (English). Watch Compass for clues to help you over the next few weeks.
