This term in LOTE Year 8 students had the opportunity to participate in a Japanese taster lesson. Students saw their name written in Japanese, learnt basic greetings, numbers, the differences between the three writing systems and practised writing kanji characters. They also learnt about the Japanese kimono which some students were able to model for the class.
The students were very interested and participated enthusiastically.
A TASTE OF ITALY WITH PIATTO PERFETTO
Year 8 students put on their best chef outfits and learnt how to make Chocolate Salami with a real Italian Masterchef, Luca Roncari.
The students, under the ever-constant supervision of the professional and his team, turned chocolate, butter, sugar and biscuits into a dish worth serving at any occasion – and they learnt Italian cooking terms along the way. Italian and food – what a combination!
