Year 8 Brainstorm Productions
On Friday the 21st July Year 8 viewed a cyber bullying production in Yallunga Hall through a cutting edge educational theatre performance.
Some of the cyber bullying content covered in the production included:
– WHO’S responsible?
– WHAT drives cyber bullies to send that nasty message, post that hurtful comment or embarrassing photo on Facebook or Snapchat?
– WHY are some people more likely to be a target and why is it hard for victims to be assertive or resilient?
– WHERE can they go if or when they are being cyber bullied?
– HOW can we stop cyber bullying from happening?
A cleverly crafted narrative allows students to examine these questions AND their own behaviour. At the conclusion of the presentation students are required to complete a reflection worksheet on the performance.
Woolworths Earn & Learn 2017
This year we will be participating in the Woolworths Earn & Learn program. Through this program we will be able to get new educational resources for our school/early learning centre – and all we need you to do is shop for your groceries at Woolworths.
From Wednesday 26th July to Tuesday 19th September or while stock lasts, we are collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers. You will get one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco and gift cards). Place the Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker onto a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet and when it’s complete, the Sticker Sheet can be dropped into the Collection Box here at the school or at your local Woolworths.
At the end of the promotion, we’ll be able to get some great new equipment. The range is extensive and offers lots of items ideal for our students – including resources for Maths, English, Science and some fantastic fun supplies for Arts & Craft, Sport and for our library. On the 18th of July, students from Year 7-12 attended the CGSSSA Netball Gala Day at Eastwood Ryde. We had teams representing the College in the junior, intermediate and senior competitions. The junior team were successful in making it through to the quarterfinals and put up a great fight but were unfortunately defeated by MSJ. Overall is was a great day and a good opportunity for all girls to bond through all age groups.
Outstanding Cross Country RESULTS
Lucy Flanagan and Grace Elliott from Bethany College were the only students from all Sydney Catholic Schools to represent the NSWCCC at NSW All Schools Championships on Friday 21st July
Grace is through to next level on 11th August at School Sport Australia Cross Country Championships.
At the end of last term we had mixed results in the SCC Grand Finals with our Junior Netball team runners up and the Senior Soccer team Premiers. Congratulations to both teams making the Grand Finals and to all students who participated in Term 2 SCC sport.
