AFL Report

2016 was the first year the school had enrolled a team to participate in the SCC AFL competition and we had the privilege to be in this team. The atmosphere and the enthusiasm was amazing! All the teams that participated were extremely friendly and we had all gained a wide understanding of the game. At first we were all quite nervous, because we didn’t know what to expect, but over the weeks we got the hang of the game, and started playing extremely well. We played and worked together as a team, which lead to us winning majority of our games. However, the season came to an end in the semi-finals, when we lost to Rosebank by a small margin. Overall it was a great season and one we will never forget. On behalf of the team, we would both like to say thank you to Miss Cox and the AFL referees who helped us too. We are quite happy with our result, and we are sure that most of us would like to represent the school by playing in the SCC AFL team next year! It was also a bonus that during the season we also got to meet some of the GWS Giants.
