Pedagogy Report

Welcome back to Term 2 and an update on professional learning for Bethany College staff. On Monday 24th April, Ruth Phillips from Gateways Education facilitated a full day on Using Differentiation to Provide Depth and Complexity in Learning. A workshop model was selected to best deliver input to whole staff and then to faculty groups for practical implementation of the models presented; The Maker and Williams Models. Both are well-respected models for enabling educators to best plan provisions for Gifted Learners. The models can (with careful selection) also be used to design authentic and engaging curriculum for learners across the full spectrum of abilities. The positive feedback from staff revealed through an evaluation of the day will inform Term 2 future planning for designing quality, thought-provoking curriculum.














A number of students in the Newman stream Yrs 7-10 have been invited (via email) ┬áto participate in the University of Wollongong’s Learning Labs initiative. If your daughter has been selected, please encourage their involvement. Students will need to enroll by the 24th May and also let me know of their intended participation.
