VET News

Congratulations to Peace Magisha.

A mandatory component of any Vocational Education and Training course is Work Placement. Students are required to complete 70 hours of on the job work experience. Bethany College has a close relationship with Southern Sydney Business Education Network (SSBEN) who place our students into suitable work places. This year SSBEN opened applications to Year 11 VET students to be recruited into their SSBEN Youth Council.

Year 11 VET students who are interested in pursuing a VET Career Pathway were encouraged to apply to the Youth Council. The purpose is to involve the Youth stakeholder group in the decision making of SSBEN by seeking a youth perspective on activities, involving youth in the development of the company’s values, and seeking input and opinion that informs and drives the SSBEN’s choices and activities.

We congratulate Peace Mugisha, Year 11 Business Services, on being accepted into the inaugural SSBEN Youth Council.

Youth Council members will be invited to, and formally recognised for, their contribution at The Annual VET Excellence Awards, which are expected to be held at NSW Parliament House later in the year.
