What’s Been Happening in Religious Education and Mission

Year 11 Retreat

The theme of the Year 11 Retreat was “I will be with you always”. Students participated in large and small group activities focusing on their identity and their relationship with God. They also prepared and celebrated a liturgy on the theme. Thank you to Mr Culleton and Mr Currao who were the leaders at the other two venues and to Ms Sukkar, Ms Rothwell, Mr Martin, Ms Brennan, Ms Cox, Mrs Venuto, Mr Gianni, Ms Stratilas, Mrs Sullivan, Mrs Rowland, Mrs Lipari and Ms Ribeiro for facilitating the retreat.

Here are some of the student response to the question, Over the days of the retreat I learnt……

  • That how I am living and what I am doing is alright.
  • I need to take time out to reflect on the direction of my life.
  • to enjoy the free time.
  • that it is OK to be me.
  • that I need to be more positive.
  • that we all keep things hidden but that I have to trust to let go of my mask.

Year 12 Prayer Families

Thank you to all those families who have ‘spiritually adopted’ a Year 12 students to pray for them during their final weeks of Year 12 and during their HSC examinations.

St Vincent de Paul Brekky Van

Thank you to the generous Vinnies Conference members who sold over 800 heart lollypops to raise funds for Brekky Van. Over $400.00 was raised to purchase supplies for Brekky Van on Saturday 22 August when Bethany College will serve breakfast to those in need at Surry Hills.
