What’s Happening in Religious Education
Year 9 Spirituality Day – On Monday, 7 June, Year 9 spent the day Walking in Someone Else’s Shoes at Uniting Venues Elanora as they immersed in their Year Group value of Justice. The Sydney Catholic Schools’ Church Engagement Team challenged our students to show empathy, mercy and humility as they engaged in small group sessions which explored the effects of small acts of kindness, the sanctity of human life and Fair Trading practices in the clothing and food industries. The day closed with a beautiful Mass celebrated by Father Yacub who always gives his time generously to serving the Bethany College community.
St Vincent de Paul Sandwich Making – Tuesday 8 June was the second rostering for Bethany College on this wonderful initiative. A big thank you to all staff and students who volunteered their time to make an assortment of nutritious sandwiches for those less fortunate. If you would like to be involved, please add your name to the volunteer roster Mr Laguzza distributes. The next date for staff and students is Tuesday 3 August.
Winter Appeal – A big thank you for all that has been contributed thus far. A reminder that donations of food, warm clothing and blankets will close at the end of week 9. Donation buckets can be located outside Student Services. Students are encouraged to continue in their generosity in these final days of the Campaign.
