What’s Happening in Religious Education

With the changing social circumstances that we have all been experiencing of late, one of the things that many communities have found particularly difficult to deal with is the absence of the sacraments being available to them.  With our churches being closed, this has made mass attendance impossible.  We are very fortunate though, that many parishes have live-streamed their masses so that the spiritual needs of parishioners can be ministered to.

With the relaxation of numbers allowed to gather in Churches, we have been able to arrange for one class each week to attend St Michael’s Church on a Monday morning at 11.00am to celebrate the Eucharist.  This will begin on Monday 1 June where Year 7 RET will be joined by their teacher (Mrs Colreavy), Ms Rodwell, Mrs Camporeale and myself.  We are very grateful to Fr Janusz for making this time available to our students so that they can begin once again, to engage with their faith on a deeper level.

At this stage, we are unable to invite parents and other members of the community to join us for the celebration of the Eucharist, however as circumstances begin to look a little more “normal”, this may change.  Please continue to watch this space for updates in relation to the celebration of the Eucharist here at Bethany.
