Year 10 History Debating
On the 6th of December, the Year 10 History Debating team participated in the grand final of the J.A Thompson History Debating competition. The topic was ‘that the black armband view of Australian history has overtaken historical discourse’, the opposing team being North Sydney Girls Selective High School. Many people attended to show their support, including the year nine Big History class, Brooke Salisbury, the debating prefect, Ms Rodwell and countless teachers. After an extremely close debate, the three adjudicators took 30 minutes to arrive at a verdict, with the winning team being North Sydney Girls. While there was an element of disappointment, we are very proud of what we achieved, and how far we have come. We would like to thank Ms Pikis, for being so incredibly helpful, patient and always working so hard to support the team. We wouldn’t have made it to the grand final without her devotion. We hope to return next year and claim the trophy!
