Year 11 Legal Studies Excursion
On the 20th and the 22nd of March, Year 11 Legal Studies had the opportunity to attend the Downing Centre Local and District Courts as a part of the preliminary course. A Judge from the District court spoke to us about his role in the legal system and he shared some personal insight in regards to his beliefs on current issues in the Australian media.
We watched several different cases that were being dealt with in different levels of the court. The experience gave us a better understanding of how the courts operate and the various roles of legal personnel.
Overall it was a fantastic opportunity and we highly recommend students to chose legal studies.
