Year 7 Camp
On 19 February, Year 7 students ventured out to Deer Park, Sutherland for a fun-filled two-day retreat. Once we arrived, the girls were assigned into their groups and immediately the fun began!
The girls got involved in a number of challenges that encouraged them to work as a team, to problem solve, to be confident and resilient and most of all to have fun. There was billy cart racing, dragon boating, swimming and fun group games. The Year 7 students proved that they were ready to take on the challenges of secondary schooling, demonstrating team work, good communication and support and encouragement for each other.
At the end of the day, the girls had the opportunity to partake in a fashion show, in which in small groups the girls had to use a number of resources to create unique costumes associated with a theme they were given. The girls then got the opportunity to parade down a runway and show their unique designs- they were outstanding! Following the fashion show was dance party, then a slumber party in which girls were able to watch a movie until they were ready for bed.
After a beautiful camp, with no rain and just beautiful memories, we returned home on 20 February. The Year 7 girls commented on how much fun camp was and we were so proud of their enthusiasm and initiative. We would like to thank the students for being so well-behaved and for representing the college in a positive way. We would also like to thank all the teachers and everyone involved in making this camp as amazing as it was!
