What’s Happening in Religious Education
God is Love
“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.” – John 4: 7-12
The Candle of Love is lit on the fourth week of Advent and we are reminded of our capacity to love as demonstrated by the Greatest Source of Love- Jesus Christ. I take this opportunity to show my love and appreciation for the wonderful Religious Education Team that assists me in ensuring that Jesus Christ is present in our College. In particular, thank you Mrs Samardzic, Assistant Religious Education Coordinator, for the care you show our students when you teach, lead and love them. Thank you and farewell to Ms Azzi, Ms Lomonaco and Ms Mathews who are leaving the College to pursue positions in other schools. We have loved having you as part of the Team and wish you all the very best in your future careers.
Please take a look at this short video which tells the story of love’s inception and reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas.
Wishing all our families a happy, safe and holy Christmas.

Thank you to Mrs Samardzic who coordinated this competition. The winners were gifted with a framed copy of their work, professionally printed cards featuring their work and a Christmas Angel to remind them of the significance of the Annunciation that would change the world.

The Chosen App for the best (in my opinion!) non Hollywood portrayal of the life of Jesus Christ out there. It is accurate and true to the Gospel but its creator and director, Dallas Jenkins, has been so clever in the creation of hypothetical stories which take place on the periphery of the Greatest Story ever told. Did the disciples doubt themselves? Absolutely! Did they all get along? Absolutely not! These interactions are not necessarily told in Scripture but there is a good chance they could have taken place. Highly recommended!
